This site is the web home of the
UNOFFICIAL Deep Purple email list
. By unofficial, I mean that nobody that was ever in that band (or in it, or former or current management) gave this list its blessing. I wanted a list for Deep
Purple, because I love email lists, got tired of waiting for
someone to create one, so I made it myself. Many thanks to Svante Pettersson at www.deep-purple.com for his help and assistance with various aspects of the list, from lending resources when needed, authorizing some graphics, and his many posts to the list.
The list rules are very simple. Send submissions to dplist@zzzptm.com. Send subscription requests to imailsrv@zzzptm.com and just have "subscribe dpdigest (your name)" (Don't include the quotes in your message or put your name in parenthesis) as the only thing in the message body. It's that simple. That adds you to the list, and you start getting the digests with the next issue. I used to do this all manually, but the list size and other arrangements require that this method be employed. It's quite simple and not very frustrating if you happen to not make many mistakes when typing. Of course, if you aren't all that good with a keyboard, you could make rather a few mistakes, so I guess that could frustrate some people. Too bad, keep trying, and you'll eventually get it right. If you have enough trouble, just email me at dplist@zzzptm.com and I'll hook you up.
As far as this site goes, you can make your way around most of it by using the navigation panel you see above on the left. Click on the word for the type of place you want to visit, and there you go. You can get more information on the DPD and this website at the list information page, for instance. Most the other stuff should be self-explanatory. If not, then explore it and find out. The site map page will have more information on each page in the site, for your convenience.
As I work on things here, some pages may not linked back to any other pages, other than the ones on the navigation panel. To get back to a page not on the panel, just make use of your browser's "back" button or hit the site map page (hoping and praying that I kept it up to date). Clever web surfers will be certain to find other ways to navigate the site...
